Jeff Kincaid Motorsports battles in Texas

May 20, 2009

With the long off-season finally over and the new Traxxas TORC Series set to kick off in Fort Worth, Texas on May 15th and 16th , Jeff Kincaid Motorsports set it’s goals high, with plans to capture it’s 7th Pro-Lite Championship. During the off-season, JKM regrouped with it’s 2008 Championship winning team including Traxxas, Forest County Potawatomi, Toyota, BFGoodrich, Fox Racing Shox, Sunoco, Webcam, and Goodwin Competition, knowing each one has it’s part to Jeff’s winning team. In addition for 2009, JKM added the powerhouse off-road sponsor Amsoil, as it’s product is the perfect fit to Jeff’s winning team.  In the fall of 2008 JKM completed a new sister truck of Jeff’s current championship winning truck to assure he’s always racing a top-notch truck.

Prepped and ready for battle in Texas, JKM arrived at Texas Motor Speedway on Thursday May 14th to get setup and teched in for Rounds 1 & 2. Friday afternoon brought practice and qualifying for the # 4 Toyota Tacoma.  Kincaid showed he meant business as ran fast laps around the TMS track qualifying in the 2nd position for the much anticipated round 1. As the sun began to fall behind the huge grandstand at TMS, Jeff took his spot on the outside pole with his perfectly tuned P-Lite as the rest of the 13 truck field lined up behind him.

Rolling up to the green flag, the field kicked off the 2009 TORC Season and Kyle Leduc jumped out to an early lead with Kincaid in a close 2nd. As the 13 trucks piled into the infield whoop section, Leduc received a flat tire from contact, and Kincaid tangled with Jeff Huseman, allowing Marty Hart to take the lead. Once the field separated through out lap 1, Jeff settled into 2nd behind Hart.  As the race reached the mandatory yellow half-way through the race, Kincaid was right on Hart’s back bumper.  The field bunched up with Hart leading veterans Kincaid and Chad Hord in the 3rd position. When the green flag dropped again, Hart and Kincaid pulled away from the field jockeying for the first position. Kincaid tried every angle at a pass for the lead, but since the track layout was so tight it made it hard to make a pass stick. Jeff raced clean along with Hart for the remaining laps, and settled for second behind Hart, knowing he would still be sitting in the inversion.
